reading is reading no matter what it is, be it a graphic novel, a romance, a classic, an audiobook, a picture book, a cookbook, fanfiction, fucking whatever, read what makes you happy
reading is supposed to be fun and don’t let elitism sap any joy out of it

Do not discourage children from reading because you feel they are reading the wrong thing. Fiction you do not like is a route to other books you may prefer. And not everyone has the same taste as you.
Do you ever just have a sudden rush of love for books? Like, you love to read in general but you have a very intense moment, similar to an epiphany, where you are just so happy that books are a thing. That you can go from reading a book about a blonde sassy detective to reading about time travel, or go from reading historical fiction to reading about superheroes. It’s just amazing, I’m so glad I get to experience so many stories and lives. That I’m not just confined to my own existence, and that I can lose and yet find myself in books and words.
I was riding the train today and there were two girls sitting next to me. I was reading World After, one of them was reading Sense and Sensibility and the other one was reading a book by Sandra Brown. So you have a young adult, a classic and a romance/suspense. And guess what? There was no eye rolling, no condescending looks from either of us, no muttering about choices in books. We sat, content, and read. I know, shocking, right? WRONG. This is how it’s supposed to be.
Books change you. They change the way you look at people. They make you more open to society. Reading is fun, but it goes deeper than that. Books forge a bridge to make you a better person

books are so lovely, it’s 5 am and I’m amazed at how many books there are and how many lives have been changed because of books and it breaks my heart that there are people that don’t find the joy in reading
